- To understand the technical components of Electrocardiography
- To understand application and use of ECG Equipment and supplies in the medical field
- To have the knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the EKG technician and how it relates to patient care.
- To demonstrate understanding of normal electrophysiology of the cardiac system
- To recognize normal waveforms in the electrical conduction of the cardiac system
- To identify common variations in the electrical conduction of cardiac system
- To distinguish deadly heart rhythms in the electrical conduction of the cardiac system
- To demonstrate understanding and differences of 3, 5 and 12 lead cardiac monitoring devices and various electrode attachment
Duration and Admission Requirements
- Nursing or Medical background
- Degree or Diploma in a medical discipline OR a minimum of 1 year experience in a medical setting
- Student undergoing Diploma program in medical and healthcare
- English Proficiency
